What the Board of Adjustment Does:

Grant Variances: The Board has the authority to authorize variances that do not conflict with public interest. This includes decisions that uphold the spirit of local zoning ordinances while securing public safety, promoting welfare, and ensuring substantial justice for all.

Planning and Zoning Commission

The Planning and Zoning Commission plays a vital role in shaping the future of Cassville by overseeing land use, zoning, and development decisions that align with the community’s vision. Commission Members Include:

The Mayor

An Alderman (selected annually by the Board of Aldermen)

The City’s Public Works Director or similar City Official

Five appointed citizens, who serve staggered four-year terms without compensation

Voluntary Annexations: Reviewing and deciding on petitions to incorporate new areas into the city limits.

Zoning Change Requests: Hearing cases for rezoning properties to support appropriate land use and development.

Zoning Code Updates: Considering and recommending changes to Cassville’s zoning code to meet evolving needs.
